Meh... You could argue it either way. Our CEO resigned, VP of Flight Ops is returning to the line, Director of Training is returning to the line, the company halted the new uniforms changes for Flight Attendants, you can't book tickets on Frontier beyond 10/20/2015, etc.. Everything appears to be lining up for a merger. The assumption that they need to IPO for Indigo to make money was planted. That could still happen, but Indigo could have bought Frontier simply for a portfolio write-down and still make a killing via a merger. Either way they have set themselves up to win.

End of the day- best thing that can happen here is to merge with someone. We need to be big to make it long term.

So what does a Spirit merger look like? How does seniority shake out? Who's branding gets tossed? Please don't make me say Spiritwings on the radio ;)

AMEN to that. Gimme the $$ and fairly combine the list but don't make me fly a banana either!

We will go back to the old slogan. Spirit of the West, the taxi yellow with the animals. my 2 cents. I do believe IPO will happen first. We are positioned to IPO this fall, then the merger could follow shortly.

I'd imagine Spirit's list is much younger than ours, which won't bode well for a strict date of hire dovetailing. It will be a train wreck. I kinda hope it never happens.

No imagination required. The majority of Spirit's list has 4-5 years of longevity or less...with 3 yr Captains. Don't think the same can be said of Frontier's list. So yes, the merger of the lists will, more than likely, be a train wreck.

Not with the amount of planes both company's have coming. Worst case it would suck and people would take a hit for a couple of years till deliveries start really ramping up. That is unless some deliveries went away with a merger.

Do you really give a **** about the color? You should worry about being the lowest paid Airbus pilots and if a merger does happen, how much harder it will be for everyone to get better pay considering how far we both would have to come if you average our (Spirits low pay as well as your horrendous pay?)

Hope it never becomes an issue and we never merge but if we do, I sure as **** don't care what they call us or what color our airplanes are

sab1250 05-16-2015 10:24 AM

I'm pretty sure he was at least half joking. Most pilots would fly a pink Navajo for life if the pay and qol were right! I know I would!
