The company was deciding between MCO and PHL when MCO was ultimately selected.
This wasn't done out of the goodness of their hearts (if they have hearts not lumps of coal reminiscent of the Grinch). They wouldn't have to displace and pay relocation expenses if they picked MCO and likely would have if they picked PHL.
I won't be surprised if the northeast ultimately ends up as one combined domicile (TTN / PHL / ILG / MDT) with a longer call out, but think that PHX will happen first.
I'll bet a six of Yuengling on that. Ms. Cleo told me so :-)

I don't think F9 could staff a PHL base with its existing pilot base. Even if you force FOs to go there to upgrade, I don't believe it would work, even as a 50 CA/50 FO base. It would be a putrid commute from DEN, plus weather, crummy transit, etc to contend with. I'll go with the flow here and put in for LAS or PHX.

I think it's funny that no one thinks we could willing staff a PHL base. Almost everyone I fly with in ORD lives east of the Mississippi, and a healthy majority of those are from the NORTHEAST.
I think West Coast first as well, but not being able to staff a Northeast base without displacing people is Nonsense.
