I agree that if you show up, know your stuff (because you can self-study), and have above average simulator skills, you'll be fine. But that kind of applicant usually have better options than HoneyJet.
Well at 1,340 hours and steadily increasing with no failures or incidents, no criminal history or major traffic violations, +300 turbine pic time and +500 of multi, no other regional airline is calling back due to what I can hope is just a temporary imbalance between captains and first officers. All other regionals have training delays as well where as Go jet currently does not to my knowledge. People I know have recommended me to use Go Jet to obtain my atp with no training delay and jump ship

🤷

Probably not the smartest idea to post your intentions of short timing an airline considering mgmt can probably ID you with your specific TT you posted .

Default My personal opinion on GoJet

Even if Gojet paid 200/hr starting paying for first Officer I would NOT go. Why? Because their training is horrible!!!!’ Basically new hires are on their own with training no good quality ground instructors and they farm out their sim training so you don’t even get taught in the sim with company instructors. Gojet has a reputation of a very high washout rate in initial training and I would not want to jeopardize my career with a failure in my records. Compared to Mesa, Mesa has a very reputable training program and they usually help their new hires and get everything through training. Mesa has its issues but overall they have a very good initial training program with company instructors who really want to help you pass

Someone in my class left during indoc for a family emergency. The company said hey no problem come back any time. He was sent a bill for the ATP/CTP, so don’t expect a free ride.

Most of my time is from helicopters and when I came to G7 I only qualified for a restricted ATP. The training was fine if you can find your own answers. Sims were with CAE in PHX and those fellas were top notch. They will go well out of their way to help you. You are not spoon fed anything. You have to figure out what’s important and what isn’t by asking your study groups, friends who are already flying, etc. There’s probably a DEC or two in class and that person is a good friend to make. By the time we were on our final sims I was more than ready. 100% pass rate in my class although 4 people quit early in sims, and that‘s including students who checked with check airmen that had a reputation for failing people over “simple” stuff. IOE was also a fantastic experience.

I do admit if I didn’t have an army background, I probably would have had a much harder time, but don’t let the quality of training deter you IF and only IF you think you can ask around, find gouge and work through it without a lot of academic help from the instructors. There are much better reasons to choose a different airline.

The only guy in my class that washed out was a Mesa CA that didn’t study with us for what it’s worth.

We were still training through flight safety in STL at the time.

I never said those were my intentions just a recommended path as per some of my peers further along in their careers.

Are they going to fire him for something he hasn’t done because he matched someone’s statistics in an anonymous forum? Zero definitive proof in a court of law.

Imagine working for an airline that does as much as they can to not pay pilots, then so many pilots leave that they finally decide to dish out industry standard pay, and then recruiters send out emails to try to get people to come back by offering them their old seniority number, longevity, and pre-separation benefits like vacation and sick time, if you come back within 12 months and do recurrent….

That’s the kind of crappy management that STILL runs GoJet.

It could be a good place to work… the crews are awesome, but management is an absolute train wreck.
