I think you can answer your question by looking at the scabs at CAL. It's been 20 years since they crossed the line and most folks still hold the grudge. It's a small world, be prepared to live the choices you've made.

I've had a couple ask for the J/S. I would rather not have them. We have a lot of captains who were with TSA at one time or another. They usually deny it. If the captain allows them, I make it known that they're required to wear the headset and they're going to get an earful. I make sure they know they're not welcome and they made a stupid choice. |

Street CA too. |

also, we are (at least I am) usually turning our IDs back the right way, not hiding them or turning them backwards. the GJ ID is all white, with the red "crew" on one side. |

When have we hired a goatjet street Captains?
By the way, there's a good chance that the passing "gojet hired, while TSA was furloughing" sentiment might be coming back fairly soon, seeing as they're still hiring street captains, and we're downgrading captains, it's possible that we might be furloughing again, while they're hiring people as quickly as possible....Which leads me to believe, there will be no reconciliation....let em burn. |
Man, I'm glad I read this. I would rather keep swimming than take a short cut to employment with these guys.

Guys.....I've flown at a regional (XJT) for about 18 months then went off to NK and I can tell for the guys who go on to GoJets and have aspirations about moving on or live in St. Louis and don't wanna commute..go ahead and do it. The regionals are cut throat right now everybody is in a tight spot right feeding the mainlines....however most captains and first officers at the mainlines....don't know who Go Jets is or could care unless they are Union Reps....which can cause a problem in an interview I guess....but we have them ride on us once in awhile....and nobody cares.......I would say what TSA did is crap....but however there are guys on the street's needing to pay bills...if no one wants to go there...some of them probably will!!! I've been a believer that regionals are more riskier than the mainlines..for many reasons.
Go ahead and do it and move on!!!! I'm sure I'll get some crap about it but I really don't care....No Go Jets didn't cross a picket line and there fore aren't scabs unlike the Continental Guys....who did cross!!!! The simple fact is pilots flying at mainlines, cargo, or lcc's have other things to worry about than what Go Jet's did!!!! |
Yeah...the current generation of mainline Pilots may not care. But I guarantee you this generation of future mainline Pilots will.
