Default Colgan-GOOD, Mesa-OK, GoJet-NONOOO!

Ok guys maybe I will be strapped to that guillotine for getting this started.
I was reading through the forums and the thread on this one kid seeking advice for a "friend" going to GoJet caught my eye. First of all, I think he is considering the move himself and not for a friend but that's besides the point.
I couldn't help but notice the negativity towards GoJet and that took me back a while.
Not too long ago, Colgan was the lowest of the lowest. You were looked at funny if you applied or even ended up there. Reason, it was bringing standards down. Then came our brothers and sisters at Mesa. I even came across guys that swore never to even lay eyes on a Mesa airplane.
Well after Colgan and Mesa were the two regionals still hiring even in bad times, the attacks seemed to simmer down.
And now all of a sudden, all the HEAT is on GoJet. The venom being spewed by our fellow aviators is more potent than a king cobras'. Now I can tell you all one thing; six months down the road after GoJet has been accepted to the family of regionals will come another one. And they too will take the heat...........who's next?

PS: I am not taking sides but merely spectating!

I sure hope there's another thread that you're referring to.... since the only one recently that I know of is a SW 37 guy asking. That's not "some kid" IMHO, and I'll bet he personally doesn't want to leave SW for GJ....

This has nothing to do with the point you are trying to make.

A kid is a baby goat (slang for a child).
kid - Definition from the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary

When you refer to someone as a "kid" it is demeanig. It suggests that the poster is a lowely little punk in high school, when infact 328dude is a SWA FO.

Demeaning language or otherwise, he may have a point here...

Add it onto the end of the thread he is referring to?

I see this one getting locked very soon. Bottom line, everyone has there reasons why they would or would not go to a certain place and everyone is entitled to their opinion, as long as they support that opinion with valid FACTS.

My bad blood towards GoJet. I have been at TSA for 2 years, QOL sucks, back on reserve, getting displaced to IAD in a month and then most likely furloughed. And our red headed step sister across the hall is hiring like crazy, right into the left seat if qulaified. Please don't tell me to be happy about any of this. I feel for every person out there on the street and realize that you gotta do what you gotta do. If you (whoever) ends up going to GoJet, best of luck to you, just don't expect me to chat with you in the crew van or buy you a beer. And remember that just because things there are good now, y'all work for the same guy I do and every dog has his day. Just my 2 cents.

All in all, somebody at Airline A thinks that Airline B sucks and Airline C thinks Airline A sucks and so on and so forth. Do whats best for your situation and be ready to answer for it down the road.

Listen to Herbie and the like -- the guy's that have actually been flying under HK for some time now. I seriously doubt G7 will ever be welcomed into our dysfuctional regional family.

Well said guys. As a former TSA guy it makes me sick to see that operation grow. And what is even worse than that is to see them smile in the terminal. As earlier stated, you still work for Hulas and your time is coming.

Therein lies the reason we'll never be able to pull off a national seniority list.

Making a comment like this is asinine. I agree that the back story of G7 is a pretty nasty one, but making comments like this sure sounds threatening and childish. Not everyone is as informed as you are as to how they got started and may have ended up there before they discovered this. Its a job and in these tough times some people cannot find ANY job, let alone a flying one, so quit with the negativity. No I dont work for GoJet, no I didnt apply there, and I am supposed to be flying for TSA right now but not because of how the economy is. I think you all need to move on and grow up.

It has nothing to do with being threatening or childish. My opinions and beliefs on GoJet don"t mean that I am going to sit and heckle these guys every day after they get out of grounds school. My point is simply that if someone thinks that going to GoJet is the best thing for them, then good luck. I am not going to welcome them or be happy about it, but it is their life, not mine. As far as answering for it down the road...There are plenty of people at plenty of bigger airlines that know the story about GoJet and how they came to be. They will want to know when you interview with them why you chose to go to GoJet and what your opinion is of the company. And I am not saying that a GoJet person will never get a job elsewhere, they just have to have an explanation why they chose GoJet. Just don't expect too much love from an ALPA carrier.

Trust me, I know there are guys at TSA who have more bad blood for them than I do and there are those that have already applied to GoJet. MY opinion is solely that, MY opinion. I am not going to activley try to attack or belittle anybody at GoJet because it is really not worth my time. Life is too damn short to be bitter about something like that, especially with work. I would rather focus on trying to make things better at TSA, work with the union to try and get what we desrve on our side of the hall, and not worry so much about the guys next door.
