I dont work for them I just cant help to notice how people think about another pilot group.I support the fact that we sould be against the people who crossed the line from TSA to GOJET at the time..but the rest of them?? who maybe didnt know how everything went down??? why??? get over it.move on..there has been a lot of stabbing in this industry already. POSITIVE RATE go on with your life man, stop thinking the way you do, you're already too bitter.C'mon

Who we talkin about here? RAH? I'm getting furloughed because of all those "Guppy Killers." Or maybe what RAH has done to Comair...ASA...? When you make that statement you have to be more specific, because I can point to a bunch of "scum" that wrecked this industry.

No, he's not talking about people getting furloughed because a pilot group gave up scope, or even because a codeshare reassigned flying to another company. He's talking about when your own company creates a completely NEW airline to take flying that was yours. (Except, when you tried to raise the bar, they went and started a new airline staffed with pseudo-scabs)...

I was in CLT a few days ago waiting for my own flight and saw a g0jetter get left behind on two flights even though there was space.

LOTS of great jobs in this economy? I'd love to know where they are. People with 2 and 3 degrees are having problems finding work much less someone with a 4 year.
There's nearly 9 million people without jobs and only about 3.3 million jobs available...of course those 500,000 jobs lost in November are included in that alone with estimates saying we could lose 2+ million jobs for the entire year.
Not defending Gojet, just saying we're either in or approaching uncharted territory on numerous fronts in this country.

There's no such thing as a recruitment ban just as there is no such thing as a list of scabs from Eastern, Continental and other airlines. The fact several of the pilots who would qualify to be on such a list have or had trouble being hired is completely coincidental.

All I know is that in the 6 months since I found out I was getting furloughed from UAL I have not had one Captain discourage me from attempting to go to GoJet. Since Tilton and Co are hell bent on expanding the regionals (while every other airline is shrinking them) most UAL pilots would rather see a furloughed UAL pilot flying those planes than anyone else, as they should have been from the start.
As a former, furlough twice, pilot in a US major, I am observing from a distance what some of our fellow young newcomers to the aviation family, think and state about the future of the industry . I can go on and on about the FACT that ALL regional airlines and pilots have lowered the standards and took the flying from the major/legacy pilots etc etc etc.
OTOH, the irony is exquisite. If daretoaviate is correct then it follows: The regional pilots are dragging down the industry which forces the legacies to furlough pilots who become regional pilots who drag down the industry which forces the legacies to furlough pilots who....well, you see how it goes.
All in all I see most of this thread as fixing the blame instead of fixing the problem. The legacies gave up on scope to make more money. They refused to take the regional pilots as brethren to protect against further scope erosion. In fact, they did the opposite; Regional pilots became the red-headed stepchildren of airline pilots. Even ALPA treated them like crap until the RJDC lawsuit and Eagle contract forced ALPA National to review their own conduct.
Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely pro-ALPA since it is the best shot we have for a true National airline pilot union, but ALPA wasn't always as enlightened has become post-9/11. As I see it, airline pilots are in the same pickle as Benjamin Franklin stated about the signatories of the Declaration of Independence:
If we do not hang together, we shall surely all hang seperately
