The key is that HK has to find a home for these airplanes.

Typically any GoJet related thread gets locked by the mods. Positive Rate manages to get a post in before the "lock". He is pretty consistant I might add.

His reasoning is quite valid actually. If TSH dangles a very shiny carot such as this, the GoJet group has a demonstrated ability to slash their costs so low that they make up a LARGE part of the equation. Its not just wages mind you, GoJet has the worst work rules in the industry.

Thats the million dollar question. Nobody has room in their scope currently for it - unless he wants to be Frontier express..

Its also just as likely that Mitsubishi desperately needs to show interest in its unbuilt/unproven airplane so they are willing to allow a 'firm' order without any cash up front. Hulas gets to dangle a carot and mitsu gets to say 'look we are selling planes'.

TSH gets to dangle the carrot and then sell off the delivery slots later...

We'll they could put the MRJ70 into operation with UAL since their scope allows for an unlimited number of 70 seaters, there’s just the Block Hour restriction which Tilton doesn’t give a crap about since he’s already violated it. As for the MRJ 90, unless they plan to start operating independently there’s nowhere to put them.

It’s a pipe dream if they plan to operate them for UAL seeing these things won’t be on property till 2014 at the earliest which is long after UALPA/CALPA’s JCBA will be finalized and I guarantee it locks in a cap and might restrict them over time.

Do I have to be the first to point this out. This is only a paper airplane at this point, so any hiring GoJet is doing right now has absolutly nothing to do with the MRJ. This is just another bargaining chip for the whipsaw game. And at this point, TSA is recalling and retraining more pilots per month than GoJet is hiring, so some of it probably has to do with attrition.
