To summarize what is usually said in all other gojet threads, if you want to roll the dice witht the rest of your career, by all means, go right ahead. But, like has been said before, you never know when that quick upgrade will come to a sudden stop.

The way I see it, if the word about gojet gets around and aspiring young pilots quit applying, you starve the beast. No pilots to fly the planes means that gojets can't underbid to get more flying. They already had trouble staffing the planes they got from ExpressJet, and you know that had Mother Delta scratching her head wondering if awarding the flying to gojets was really such a good idea.

Back to the original point, why take a chance of getting stuck at a subpar outfit. I've talked to many a Captain who has said that while they may not reject a gojet pilot for the jumpseat outright, they sure as hell won't lift a finger (read - no ballast, no moving passengers, no servicing oxygen if it's low, no removing an unnecessary alternate, no nothing) to get a gojetter on board.

While most legacy Captains have no idea about gojets, the word will get around as more current regional guys find their way in to mainline cockpits and hiring boards. In other words, WHY RISK IT???

...and by the way...

IN BEFORE THE LOCK!!!

you have no idea what you are talking about. GoJet has had no problem staffing anything.

If you have to ask these types of questions it should answer it.for.you.

Then why did gojet ask if they could take the planes at one or two per month instead of all at once, like they underbid for?

But since I have previously heard negative things about working for GoJet I am curious if it would look bad on the resume working there. All I know is that GoJet First Officers are some of the lowest paid jet FO's in the industry, but aside from that I don't know why working there would look bad within the industry. Has the perception of GoJet pilots changed over the years or do I have a misconception that working for GoJet is bad?

I am considering GoJet for their Captain Qualified First Officer program. Are CQFO's viewed differently and are they disliked within the company? I have just over 4000 total time and 1000 PIC multi engine turboprop flight time, but I have no jet time and no experience flying pax. I'd consider the CQFO option at GoJet for a quick upgrade in the CRJ700.

Any thoughts?

OP: Use the search function, you're probably not going to get a decent discussion on your topic. There are many discussions floating around about GoJet, although most of them are locked, you can still get a good idea what is going on.

Everybody else: Let's keep it civil and constructive. Please.

Any airline that takes on 50% growth all at once would need time to ramp up staffing. It is not rocket science.
