I can grow a great beard. It’s too itchy. Won’t repeat. But good luck to those that don’t have itchy beards.

It feels like that because you haven't let it grow past the itchy stage. Gets better when allowed to grow naturally.

Very true. In college it was itchy for me for a couple of weeks. Then it smoothed out.

What about clown noses? Those need to be mandatory.

You can already wear those. Thanks for the great post.

Multiple US airlines already allow beards. It’s simply an issue of corporate image control and how much legal noise they are willing to tolerate to enforce it. Safety hasn’t been a factor in hire a while.

I got hired by a US regional after interviewing with a short, neat beard.

Why some passengers think beards detract from one’s professionalism and ability to fly is entirely beyond me. Hopefully that’s just a dumb generational thing that’s quickly dying out.

It’s the military influence on the profession. Plain as that.

Both of these are accurate.
