Look at the news today - it is undeniable that various media outlets pick and choose what they want to get the biggest headlines. Scientists and pro-green initiatives do the same thing, too. To deny that is no different than an intolerant Bible or Koran thumper (or whatever floats your boat). It's not as finite as 2+2=4. The answer is more like 4-ish. My opinion.
Based on the mass hysteria I've seen the last few days over our decision to not be part of an International club originating in Paris I'd say your ascertion that "combating" climate change is indeed some people's religion.

Science also told me that eventually the sun is going to become so hot that it will fry the earth. People need to relax and enjoy life. Recycle, pick up trash, convert your house to solar energy for all I care- stop telling others how to live their lives. And before someone jumps in with "oh but the evil christians and pro lifers," the notion of minding your own business can go a long way for both sides of the aisle.

Not voting for Hillary was a smart move, the question for the Democrats over the next year will be, how much blame can you pin on Debbie Wasserman Schutlz. My guess is they pin the entire Russian narrative on her, when that thing falls apart.

You hit the nail on the head there. It literally is irrational mass hysteria. It would be funny if it wasn't so scary.

Fossil records show that the earth had much MORE bio-diversity when it was a lot warmer. While things "change" when it gets warmer, everything simply dies when it gets colder. I know which way I prefer temps to go... Stuff grows when its warm, can't grow food when its cold.

Throw another log on the fire, do your part to combat the next ice age!

But for you, explain why a settled science has models, where almost all are horribly dead wrong. If you flew an ILS, and when you broke out at DH, you were 6 miles off the runway, would you say it's settled that the ILS is accurate?

I'm more qualified with a degree in meteorology and engineering. Most of the research I've seen points to humans having some effect on climate change. I'm not talking about how it will be in 10 years. Predicting the future is incredibly difficult and many scientists agree that climate models are wholly inadequate right now. You can't deny the historical data, though and it points to a change in climate due to the emissions of greenhouse gases.

Most of the arguement regarding climate change is whether it exists or not...I think we are all off the mark here. Whether it exists or not is less relevant to the implications that policies designed to combat it have on our economy and jobs. We could gradually transition to renewable energy, provide incentives for clean energy; or we could sell ourselves to the whims of the international community regardless of the impact it has on jobs that rely on the stability of the energy industry.

Clean/green/alternate energy isn't going to happen overnight. In the mean time, fossil fuels is what runs our energy system and much more. Climate deniers take up much of the spotlight on the far right side of the debate but being on the right of center side of this debate doesn't preclude one from believing in an eventual transition to green energy.

And how would you define a junk science..other than one that is too complex for you to understand.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for fighting AGW, even though I know it is overblown. However, carbon taxes are a no go. I would be all for spending more than a trillion tax payer dollars on next generation nuclear power, that is an investment that will pay off without higher taxes, and enrich everyone, not just a few green energy company investors.
