I’m from Baton Rouge and a lot of the older guys around the airport knew him, or at least claim to, to a man they all say he was a piece of human garbage.

Also the movie is pretty inaccurate.

If they knew him that well, they as well knew the esprit du temps.

Inaccurate, poetic glorification? Here's a chance to save 8$ and 2 hours; fresh squeezed, lots of pulp, right from the tree. Knew a kid, knew him pretty good in fact. Sleepy suburb address, no parents, no basement. Only a token paid for his share of the rent. Returns from a hard day's night hauling US mail to find three dudes he doesn't know watching porn on the projection TV. WTF? Cruises into his bedroom, stuffs a bag then promptly out a back door. Two of the dudes anticipate and, just as promptly, snap on bracelets mod squad style. Except there's no long haired chick and, my toolish friend, who's already exhausted, starts to go into shock. Bunky's mid course reversal. Something he denies on cue. Working stings for the merit badge presumably. House has been under surveillance for a while, phone calls recorded and God knows what else. Absolutely sublime. So what happens? Due to an untimely tropical wave & last minute divert screw-up, a scripted Aero Commander load of pearl arrives without interdiction or bust. Prefer happy endings? Their stoolie taxies clear…onto a nice, safe, gov't job

Countless ranchland tracts, most anywhere north of the lake up trough Fellsmere to Yeehaw junction, a QC ramp possibility for a mixed bag of dice rolling, Cherokee Six (who needs Ted Smith?) jocks and crew. Mosquitos and wild boar ambush the biggest concern for a time there. But none of this chitbird lot, of which I'm aware anyway, manages hanging on to the easy beads very long.

Interesting sometimes when you wake up to just what it is you've let yourself get acclimated.

Not enough apparently. Someone actually called me over this. Idle hangar talk. About a contrived, motion picture farce with airline pilot turned drug runner turned informant. Gunned down in reprisal during a bygone era. Compared to 30 such executions this January at Cancun alone. 2017 estimated Mexican cartel murders; 20,000? Primarily driven by a voracious (737 cabin full of OD's on a daily basis) US market & its equally troubling reverse flow of firearm export. Not to mention, igloo coolers. And no thread for crisply attired professionals. Best to stick with bickering over tats, beards or better yet, Foster Grants in the terminal.

So much of what happens to a kid hangs on chance. Having trouble with one? Don't lose another second wringing your hands over what might have been. Do whatever it takes, as many time as it takes, to get them on a T procedure. Then accelerate past, clean-up, move the f on.

That's why I put him on the Ignore List.

The rant you just quoted is either the product of an incipient stroke, or the abuse of one or more illegal chemical substances.

That’d be great, would you please? We could pick out songs for each other’s recovery!
