Default Best Sunglasses?

Sorry if this is not regional related, but my Costa Del Mars broke recently and i need some new sunglasses. The only problem i had with those was that headsets hurt after a while with them. Any suggestions?

I had Oakley Half Jackets for years and they worked out great, for both flying and for baseball year round. I don't know if Oakley is making them anymore, but they were similar to these:

Unfortunately, someone stole my pair and now I'm stuck with a $20 pair until I get enough money to worry about fancy sunglasses

I'm an Oakley guy, and will be forever...I'm sure you're going to see a slew of Oakley-haters on this thread, but that's my 2 cents. However, due to headset pain, I do have to tilt the frames up a bit so they go over the top of my earcups. Doesn't bother me to do so. I'll be Lots of folks out there swear by Serengetis, and they look to be a good lens with a headset-compatible frame. They can usually be had for a price slightly cheaper than Oakleys, as well. Never worn them myself, though.

Don't get a polarized lens.

I'm on my second pair of Serengeti's, I sware by them. Costco has them for around $80 or $90. The design of the frame does not interfere even with a passive noise canceling pair of DC's. Even after 8 hours of flying my head doesn't hurt from the sunglasses.

Cool

I have a pair of Serengeti Cavalin's. They rock....however the lens popped out one day and shattered....its like 60/70 bucks to replace. So i bought a pair of Maui Jim MJ Sports. I found them more comfortable then my cavalin's but they are polarized...they worked on the lear 60 i was flying...not sure about the CRJ. it is the same avionics package so i'll find out when i get on the line.

I have a pair of Maui Jims also. They are polarized and I have no problems in the cockpit on primus 1000.

I love my polarized Ray Ban's...I haven't had a problem with them on the LCD display of the G1000 except when at extreme viewing angles.

Used Ray-Bans for years. Bought a pair of American Optical sunglasses, and now I have half a dozen Ray-Bans in the drawer.
