Currently the only way that I see to publicly react to a given post is to type a response, which sometimes leads to conflict.
Has it been discussed having just some sort of love, like, disagree, agree buttons?
Just a thought, for what it's worth.
It's been considered in the past. That tends to amplify the echo-chamber effect, since people don't always have pure, objective motives when they use those features.

"Likes" have all the intellectual integrity of a balloon animal, roughly akin to posting, "Yeah," or "What he said," or simply, "I agree." Lacking in substance and largely devoid of intellectual mass, "likes" are teen-speak that harks to a popularity contest in junior high school. Not an adult endeavor, really.

If one has something to contribute, then say it. Plain english still works. I realize that the extent of aeronautical prowess for some is following the magenta line and engaging the autopilot at 400', and some don't wish to do more; much like some prefer to simply hit a "like" button and let others do the contributing to the thread. If one isn't able or willing to contribute, to address the thread subject and add to the discourse, perhaps one may be better grabbing the big box of crayons and some typing paper and letting go.

There does come a time when one must chuck the shorts and actually put on some big boy or big girl pants, and join the real world.

"Likes," and "if you agree, check this box," properly have their place in the sainted hall of the local junior high.

I strongly support adding a like (and preferably) a dislike button. It would cut down on needless posts, like this one. I sincerely do not believe this would amplify the echo-chamber effect.

My input to the moderators.

Fair enough, if yours is an honest opinion.
