It's not misdirection, it clearly shows where your mindset is. You believe that these people are not *really* changing who they are. And you're offended you have to play their game with them.

I fly with people all the time who go by names that aren't on their birth certificate and I don't protest. No one is getting fired for calling them by the name on their rotation the first time. It becomes problematic when they say, no, please don't call me that name, call me this name and the other person refuses to comply, for literally no reason.

Who cares if you don't agree what their name should be. It isn't your place to tell them what it is or isn't.

Gender is nothing more than a construct designed to oppress us, just like popcorn or water.

I frequently identify as an animal. Most animals do not wear clothing, so when I am forced to wear clothing I’m not allowed to be who I really am.

New generations sure do seek out attention using funny methods. It’s a bold move Cotton, let’s see how this plays out…hopefully more effective anti-depression medication is in the pipeline.

I’m not sure absurd identities are the key to happiness.

Wear what your employer wants you to wear or start your own company. Period.

Yeah….. agreed 💯. And besides while we’re changing the definition of nearly everything in sight…. What’s up with the term “minor”? That just seems like another outdated term of colonialist patriarchy. There have been many cultures throughout history where what the west considers a minority in modern civilization, is years older than what’s been allowed. The Greeks and Romans allowed for under age brothels. Who are WE to decide at what age two sentient humans can decide to have intimate relations. I mean, if in grade school one can decide to be another gender, have bodily mutation surgery and take hormone blockers, it seems the highest form of hubris to insist that they then conform to outdated notions of whom and what age the person is that they engage with intimately.

How dare anyone attach their Puritan notions of age of consent. I truly hope that one day we can rid ourselves of the bigoted pedophobic words like “child”, “age of consent”, and “minor” and live in a society free of prejudice.

Amighrite????

Sophisticated ideas like consent seem to be too much for some.

This pedo misdirection seems to be the only thing you've got. It just goes to show how empty your argument really is. If you can connect an individual making decisions about their own body as somehow on the slippery slope to predatory pedophilia, then that speaks more about your own lack of morals than the people you're trying to suppress.

This thread makes me think of advise I always give to new hires. After hotel sign in when the flabby white guy asks if you want to meet in soon downstairs to go to the Irish Pub or (god forbid) The Yardhouse, always say you are meeting a friend.
