Default Perks of being a pilot!

I think we all can agree that the pay could be better, but what does everyone think are the benefits to being a pilot vs. other jobs.

When you go drinking on an overnight, you don't have to worry about arranging for a DD and you've got a hotel room paid for.

Everyone always wonders what it's like to be a pilot, nobody wonders what it's like to sit behind a desk and push papers! We fly planes, it's great.

I haven't even met my supervisor. We can go rediculous lengths of time with no direct contact with any form of management.

Our job is very clear-cut. So is management's expectation from us. We don't have to meet quotas like a salesperson, we don't have projects and deadlines, we don't have to consult anybody, present anything, or be anybody's "point man" for anything. Just move an airplane from here to here. Done.

We can leave our work at work. Our time is our time, and we get more of that than most working professionals by far.

Plus, like everybody else said, most of us probably dreamed of doing this for a living, and now we are. While I still think we're deserving of more than we get early on in our careers, I really can't see myself doing anything else. I can deal with bologna sandwiches for a while.

Best office view in the world. Travel benefits.

Those are the top two that I can think of.
