My friend has a pair in his J-3 Cub. They're fantastic.. you feel the wind in your hair, but can hear each other just fine. I'm buying a set of my own, if I have the money after my multi-Comm checkride. Those earbuds are the same yellow foam as in the throwaway earplugs; they kill off the outside noise effectively. I think I'd rather have the CA headsets than an ANR set - no worries about dead batteries.

The clarity aloft is awesome.
I wouldn't want to fly without them!
An they are far more durable than their picture would lead you to believe.
I got mine from AVshop with free shipping for $500
The only drawbacks are the headset is very light. The cord can pull the headset off your head.
You'll need to give it about 2 feet of slack and tie it off to your shirt or somewhere in the cockpit.
If you haven't worn earplugs you might want to try flying with earplugs to get accustomed to the feel.
The earplug inserts for the clarity aloft are made by the same company that makes the orange soft earplugs. If you like those, you're good to go
Cheers

I have had mine for a couple months now. The audio quality is fine, they work great. The problem I have is after a long day of flying they get a little fatiguing, like wearing a heavy pair of sunglasses.
I use them in a Cheyenne and it cuts the noise pretty well. The best part is it is also harder to hear the people in the back now.

I've been thinking about them myself. I was also thinking about the LightSpeed Mach 1, but the CA seemed better all around. Just haven't made the purchase yet. Most the planes I fly already have a Bose installed, standard issue
. There was something the LS had that CA didn't, but I don't think it's really a huge issue in the big picture. I'll have to go look that up again.
