That may have been me the other day in ROC. I couldnt see or remember the gate we parked at. He must have had a supervisor over his shoulder because he said "if you dont tell me where you are then how can I move you?"

I wanted to say, we come here 4 times per day, we park at the same gate and you are staring right at me from your cab but instead I said east ramp and they managed to find me.

I can see this being an issue in EWR or BOS but ROC isnt exactly a bustling metropolis.

It was in PRC a few months ago (It was not a Riddle aircraft that did it).

This was great it was a few years back when I was still flying in the NYC area. A UAL express flight was attempting to get runway 11 at EWR to avoid the big line for 22L. The Blue Ridge flight asks Approach for the ILS to 11 and the controller replies it is on request. Every time the controller gives a vector or an Altitude to the Blue Ridge flight they repeat the request for ILS 11 and you can hear the tone of the controller’s voice becoming more irritated each time. The controller finally puts them on the last vector of 22R and the Blue Ridge flight responds guess 11 is out. The controller responds Blue Ridge XXXX contact Newark tower maybe they can get you a fries and a coke with your request this is not burger king this is not the way you want it. There were lots of people choking back laughter when they answered there own radio calls.

LA Center: "Japan Air 80 heavy, traffic 2 o'clock, 8 miles, converging, heavy DC10 at flight level 330."

JAL 80: "Japan Air 80, Traffic in sight".

LA Center: UAL 210 heavy, traffic 10 o'clock 6 miles converging, heavy B747 at flight level 350."

UAL210: "Searching".

LA Center: "UAL 210 heavy, traffic is now 10 o'clock 2 miles, flight level 350."

UAL210: "Still no joy, 210."

JAL80: "Look into the sun, Yankee dog."

We heard this today heading into Teterboro.

Cleveland Center: Continental XXX expect a descent and left 360 in four min.

Continental: Do we have a choice of which one?

Cleveland: Haha no, need it for spacing.

Continental: And that requires a descent?

Cleveland: I need add 8 1/2 min on your arrival. <Pause> Unless you're apporved for formation flight.

Heard while holding short @ Daytona

Tower: Delta xxx There will be a Cessna Crossing in front of you at 2100 feet

Delta xxx: Roger

Tower: Ok, just didn't want you to freak out

Delta: Hahaha ok

30 secs later...

Delta: AAAAAAAAAAAA

Tower: Haha, was that the official freak out?

Delta: yea, it was, haha

Delta: "Is there a reason for the go fast, go fast, slow down?"
New York Center "Yes had to fit you in to traffic then you must cross intersection XYZ at 210kts"
Delta: "Ah..Okay....are you new?"
NY center: "No, been here for 20yrs. <pause> how long have you been flying? <pause> guess you don't fly the NE corridor much"

in Richmond, Delta or Cont regional female pilot calls.
Del/Cont: "Clearance xyv 1234 to Newark"
Clearance: "Cleared xyz..blah blah.....will try to get you a good time"

I wounder what did he mean by a good time, and did she get one?
