F/A photographed in Captain's seat in flight

Wasn't really sure where to post this.
It does lead me to think about f/a's occupying the flight deck when a crewmember is in the lav. I personally would not let them occupy the left seat if I was flying but what are the actual regs?

Once again the public is full of morons who will take this the wrong way. The article wasn't about the FA in the seat but that the CA was not in it. As stated, CA's have to use the bathroom and a FA will come up front.
Also, what about that other thing, what's it called....oh yeah a First Officer, I bet they could handle things and respond to ATC.

Yes the FA should not be in the seat but this is being blown way out of proportion. The person who posted these pictures obviously didn’t know the windfall this could/will create.

I certainly know which I've seen on the line 100% of the time.

I normally make them stand by the door looking out the peephole.
Technically it would be rather difficult to have a conversation anyway above FL250. I guess it all depends on how strict the capt. is

Read some of the comments from that **news** site. And you wonder where the public gets such ideas and why they seem to have such little respect for the profession:

It was less than 15 years ago that an Airbus A310 crashed on a flight from Moscow to Hong Kong when the captain's son was sitting in the captain's seat, the plane got out of control, and the captain was unable to take his seat due to the G forces. Everyone onboard died."

Our FA's always sit in the empty seat, due to our ops when a crew member leaves. Recently, they now need to make sure they are buckled for their own safety and can even put on the headset to communicate better with us.
They may not know too much about flying the plane, but it doesn't hurt to have a second pair of ears and eyes, not to mention to keep them safe just in case you hit a nasty bump.
