Aspiring pilots...what's your career goal?

Aspiring pilots...what's your career goal?
I thought that it would be interesting to start this thread for those of us aspiring to become professional pilots and see what similiarities and differences we have.
For me it has been a long and arduous task just to be awarded the (my) 1st Class Medical certificate. I was told that I should have an answer by week's end, however I was also told that they are backed up. Staying positive though.
At any rate, my career goal is to hopefully fly for either ASA or Comair. I'm partial to CRJ fleet; the 700 & 900. Being 46 yrs old now, I understand that being a career regional airline pilot would probably be in my best interest; however, if given a shot at landing a gig at the Majors, it would definitely be between DAL and Air Tran.
My other goal/option would be Corporate. I like the King Air 350 and the Cessna 550. The 550 reminds me of a small A-10 Warthog if I'm not mistaken.
When it all said and done though, I can say with certainty that I will go wherever I'm offered a job.

My dream was to become a doctor but I realized I was just too stupid, so I settled for being an airline pilot. Maybe you'll end up a doctor, ATP.

I would personally like a job that paid around $200k annually that involved flying P-51's, Corsairs, Waco's, and Stinson's. In fact, a job that pain $200k annually and involved flying any taildragger would be good.
In reality, my dream goal would be Fire pilot, but not sure if that could ever be. In terms of more normal jobs, the Frac's really interest me a lot.

I'm taking things one day at a time, so for now, my goal is to graduate from college with a strong GPA. In the future? Who knows. My dream has always been to fly professionally (smart alecks, keep it to yourselves, I've already heard it all). I have this hopeless thing for heavies (I'd love to fly an MD11 or 747 internationally ). Any reliable, solid airline with good routes, people, and airplanes would be preferable. I'm definitely not ruling out the corporate world, as there are lots of opportunities to fly cool planes to neat places with awesome people in that area, too. I'm also seriously considering the National Guard after college.

ASA just got a pretty good contract... all I can tell you is that here, Comair, we are furloughing in waves through Nov 5th and being wholly owned by Delta means we get thrown the worst crap and make the most cuts when they need cuts in the DCI system... the politics here really detract from the experience too. Good luck on your road to being an airline pilot and ASA looks like a good place to be right now... although that is all subject to change in 30 seconds...

I just started... I don't have my heart set on being an "airline pilot" Since I have some years ahead of me, I hope I can find some ways to have an adventure out of flying before I get settled in. For an example, flying a DC-6 in Alaska (like Flyordie) would be quite an adventure...I have however, my heart set on not jumping into a regional right after getting my commercial (if there was such a hiring boom when my time comes).
As far as a career goes, I would like to work for a place that has been around for sometime and has a good reputation, and is secure for the most part. NJA, FlexJet, CS, World, UPS, Fedex, sounds all good in the U.S. I also would very much like to work for CX as well...Who knows I might even go back home and fly for our national career...Don't know yet!!

All kidding aside, I have no actual flight experience; however I have identified a flight school to attend and once awarded the 1st class medical, I'm really going to press on toward my goal.

Furlough Week 1: Apply for unemployment and drink beer

Furlough Week 7: Maybe start looking for a new job... maybe... but definitely drink beer!
PS: Ya, I like my avatar... I always think of the 300 movie spoof with where the Spartans are on the plane and the guy yells, "Tonight we dine in Cleveland!!" For some reason the cat helmet just reminds me of that.

Since I'm 26 and have only had my Comm/Instrument for a few months, I want to get my CFI and CFII, start flight instructing, then work my way up the ladder. A part 135 job, then either heavy international cargo job, or go to either Australia to work for the RFDS or New Zealand. This, and to be paid enough to pay the bills all in the same month.
