Any classical music fans out there?
I for one enjoy some classical & chamber music. One of my favorite tunes is "Procession of the Nobles" by Rimsky-Korsakov.
My ex-wife and I will have this played at our wedding reception (...yes, we're getting back together
) when being introduced as husband & wife with (....ladies and gentlemen I present to you the new and improved Mr. & Mrs. ________) being said just before the refrain starts and we taking our seats just before refrain ends.

I like Baroque very much and classical chamber music in general but can't call myself a fan just for that. I like Bach-Telemann-Handel and anyone else of that era. They were sort of the jazz musicians of the 18th century. I am a trained musician who specializes in chamber-style jazz improvisation or "small combo" jazz. My mother is classical lover and played concert classical piano to a fairly high level at one point, but it did not rub off on me. I keep a digital Hammond B-3 in the living room and play that when I am not flying and love music although I would not want to pursue it professionally. The jazz industry runs to the sordid in terms of working conditions, which is why I got out of it.

I studied music, a bit, back in school - Just enough to know that not all music played without words is classical. The romantic stuff did little for me, Bach and Beethoven is good listening, and the ornamental stuff of the Baroque seems, to me, the musical equivalent of a crocheted tablecloth - a solid rag would do the same purpose with much less work.
One album I do love dearly, though, is Bela Fleck's "perpetual motion".. Fleck is a Banjo virtuoso and he tackled many of the classics in an album that I run through the iPod at least once every couple weeks.... Give it a shot.
