Default Car scammers, look out!

So after checking all the popular sites, browsing for a potential new car, I come upon a BMW M3 for $8000.
Here:

After emailing the seller, asking why this car (worth at LEAST 3 times this amount) was for sale for so cheap, here's the response I get:

Hello,

I see from your email that you are interested in the condition of the car, so you have to know that the car is 100% working and looking very good, no flaws or dents,
no scratches or any kind of damage, no flood or wrecked and it has a US clear title,
the interior looks great, is brand new condition because I have took care of it
like it was my baby (the car is located in Portugal, Lisboa ready to be shipped).
This is a regretful sale but unfortunately I need money for my son, he is in hospital and I really need money for him. This is why I am selling the car so cheap.
BUY IT NOW for $8000 because I want to close a quick and smooth deal with a serious person. About the shipping I can tell you that will be done through DAS and it will take no
more than 7 working days. The car will be insured at the shipping company for the transport
and the shipping cost is free because my brother work's at the shipping company and he has 1 transportation per year for free.

If you are still interested please contact me asap.
Thanks!
Keep in mind, the car is listed in Chicago...

And then, a few minutes later, I get a response about another car that I had inquired about, again asking far less than what the car was worth:

Hello, I'm Sgt. David Price.
This Audi is in perfect working condition. This vehicle engine runs very very smooth. No electrical problems on this beauty. This detailed vehicle makes the exterior looks like it just came off the assembly line. The car has 31,700 miles on it.
As I know that my current situation is pretty special I want the deal closed only through ebay's Buyer Protection Program in order for you to be 100% protected. You will make the payment to eBay and they will hold the money until you receive the car. ONLY AFTER you receive the car and you inspect it(for 15 days) eBay will release the payment to me; in this way we are both protected. I am located in Budapest, Hungary and I was sent here to improve the military relationships between USA and Hungary. One month ago, my wife Jannet moved here with me and brought the car with her, but now we have to sell it back in the US because we can't register it here, it has US specs and everything, and registering it here in Europe will take for ever. My price on it is US 6,000 $.
If we reach an agreement, I am willing to take care of the shipping to your address. Shipping will take 10 days maximum. I have managed to obtain a low cost shipping, only $600 and I presume it would be fair to split the shipping cost so, we'll pay $300 each. Meaning, that the car and the shipping/handling will cost you $6,300. I think this is reasonable.
Please get back to me asap if you decide to buy, and include in your e-mail your full name and address where you want it shipped so I can start the deal with eBay. You will receive all the transaction payment and shipping details from them.
Regards
David Price

Yea I remember running into morons like these when I were looking for a motorcycle too.

Best advice, if the price is too good to be true, it usually is.

"Sure, just pay me and I'll ship it from England (listed in Jacksonville)".

I almost lost $6000 on a 350Z received almost the same exact emails and I kept questioning it. They sent me a contract which had a phone number, so I called it. The man answered it as a fruad prevention service and assured me that the deal was real. I hung up with him almost convinced but still had questions so I called back. The phone kept ringing and finally a recording said, "the wireless customer you are trying to contract is unavailable." At that point i knew it was fake, so I started doing some research online and found this has happened hundreds of times. Atleast you didn't take the bait!

Wow, that is such a good deal! You should buy both cars and sell them for big money!

Seriously guys, this scam has been around for a LONG time. If it sounds too good to be true, it always is.

I got this email a while back, and it cracks me up. Especially reason number one. I had no idea the US was such a great place to invest money into when our market has been doing so well

By the way, why would I be given a price in British Pounds when the national currency of South Africa is the Rand?
