Can I ask you guys a question?
I know a pilot that works for American Eagle. He is in charge of recruitment at the San Juan hub. He had an accident with a bike and injured his leg real badly. He still flies but why would you guys put your lives or careers in danger by riding a motorbike? With todays cars even though they don't spend the same amount of gasoline they sure come close. You won't be attracting many women in a toyota but I wouldn't want to put my life in the hands of a drunk driver. At least in a car you have better safety. Just my two cents. Call me a ***** if you like, I would never drive a motorbike on a highway if anything.

In this life, we assume a certain amount of risk. We chose to. Without risk comes with no reward. One word to answer your question: Freedom.

Many fun activities aren't very logical like riding motorcycles, skiing or jumping out of airplanes. Some of us have our heads wired to enjoy those activities despite our awareness of the risks involved.

I don't think that many people use motorcycles as an economical substitute for cars. I save about 120 gallons of gas if I put 5,000 miles on my motorcycle instead of my four cylinder car. At most I could save $500 a year in gas which does very little to offset the expense of owning and maintaining a motorcycle. A moped or scooter might work though. That would pay for itself pretty quickly if it was keeping miles off a lifted four door F350.

QFT!! If you want to be devoid of all risk, then be a vegetarian and work at home
