had a ninja 650R 2006... sold it for my PPL ironically. Once I am settled with an airline career and start making a little bit of money I will most likely pick up a V twin sportbike... RC51 maybe? Love the low end tq, and the sound... love that damn sound! Almost sounds like a carb'ed Small Block Chevy 8 cyl...

I love Denton, TX traffic court. Maybe because they keep dismissing my charges, but probably because the D.A. is pretty hot. The judge and bailiff are pretty laid back too. I never expected that when I moved to TX.
On-demand freight needs to get busier. I got out of this one, but all this free time will eventually get me in trouble.

From: ATP, CFI etc.
1988 Yamaha Radian 600, 1999 Honda Nighthawk 750. The Radian was fast and nimble, 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, the Nighthawk was comfortable for trips and it was a great all-around bike. I got out of riding because it's just too dangerous. People die on them while the cars that turned in front of them go to Maaco for a little cosmetic work.

Good God this thread needs some pictures!
2002 Yamaha YZF-R1:
She looks slightly different now...made a few adjustments to clean her up as far as turn signals and the license plate go, but she's still lookin' classy!
Bikes before this:
1991 Suzuki Katana 600 (Ya, I'll admit it!)
1994 Honda CBR 900RR
1995 Honda CBR 900RR
2000 Yamaha YZF-R6
1999 Yamaha YZF-R6
2003 Yamaha YZF-R6
A good progression I'd say
I'd still have that 2003 if some @$$clown hadn't stolen it while I was living in Las Vegas

For sure take the class: Motorcycle Safety Foundation It will really save your life.
As far as the beginners bikes go here is a list...
Kawasaki Ninja 250...some people say is not big enough...but it might be a lot of fun...after a year or two you can upgrade to a bigger bike.
Kawasaki Ninja 500...it looks like a standard bike (you don't lay on the gas tank that much). Really nice bike (one of my favorites). You can buy one relatively inexpensive.
Suzuki SV 650 (the naked edition) Good bike but has more power than the Kawi's I have listed above.
Kawasaki Versys...(Haven't seen one at the dealership yet but people say a lot of good stuff about it)
So you don't have to buy a busa to have fun!!!
Remember take the class, wear protective gear, be smart and have fun...always ride your own ride!!!!!!

Well i would really love to get one but being 21 and male is killer on the insurance. I like the Yamaha YZF600 though and hopefully someday will be able to afford one when they dont consider me such a risk. Anyone have and good ideas on what are some good bikes to start on? Like I said I am kinda partial to the crotch rocket style but maybe thats because Im young and feel invincible......

I'll second the MSF course. I went into the course with previous 2-wheeled experience and I still learned a LOT. I've got a Black 2003 Kawasaki ZX-6R sitting in the garage, too bad it rains 9 months out of the year in Portland....
