Choosing Seats
#1
I was reading this article and it brought back memories of when I had seats next to the galley and next to the lavatory. To this day, I haven't decided which gassy smells are worse.
I recall, quite vividly, flying on Cathay Pacific and sitting next to the galley. Must have been feeling sick from something else already, but when the food smells came wafting out, I thought I was going to barf all over the poor woman who sat next to me. All she wanted to do was get to Hong Kong and spend Chinese New Year with her family.
Then there were many different trips stuck in a seat uncomfortably close to the lav. I want to banish all those memories! I'm getting sick just thinking about them.

How about the last row of an MD-80 or similar configured a/c. Not much of a view from the window, unless you've never seen an engine nacelle up close, and you can only pray that the engine noise doesn't resonate with your fillings.

I recall Alaska handing out ear-plugs to the back few rows on their mad dogs a few years back.

Its wonderful to have a smart phone, fly NRSA, find out your stuck in coach and having them say we got a few seats in the back, where do you want to sit window or isle and having seat guru up and saying is 12C open?
