Guns!
#183
Still haven't shot the XD yet, but plan on giving the XD40 a try at the range this week. Put 100 rounds down range with a Glock 22 .40. I liked the gun well enough, though a spent casing got stuck in the slide during ejection. Found that to be a bit odd...
I'll do my research online as well, but can someone put into plain english the difference between single-action and double-action handguns and how it effects your use?

Not sure if it's been posted yet but GLOCK and H&K (maybe others) give a discount to pilots! Glock gives the discount to ANYONE holding a commercial certificate and H&K requires a 121 carrier ID. I just bought a brand new Glock model 22 .40 caliber 3rd gen RTF 2 for $420. Awesome pistol! Very accurate very fun to shoot. There are limited stores through out the country that can give you the discount same day as purchase however. I called glock in GA to find one close to me. If you don't have one near by, glock makes your gun and ships it to your nearest FFL dealer. I think you can get it even cheaper that way too.

Any gun shop that does law enforcement sales should be able to provide the Glock discount in-store...guess I'm just lucky because there's one such store less than 5 miles from my house.
Bud's Gun Shop (located in LEX but they also have a massive online store) was giving sizable discount to anybody with a CPL on all Smith & Wesson firearms (including the M&P-15) a few months ago; not sure if that is still in effect or not.
