Yeah, his statistics are all way off.

I like this gem from Capt Tom: "The smaller the plane, the easier to fly" What a delusional jack wad!!

Create the fear, then sell a potion to cure it.

P.T. Barnum nailed it. Although he may not have been the first to say it.

So I take it he thinks the 747SP was much easier to fly than the 747-400

Hmmmm... I wonder where they are doing their research?

Also, I like how the Tu-134 is safer than the DC-9 or 737-200....

He's missing stats for the A340 (I can think of Toronto and Brazil off my head, but I can't think of any B777 accidents). Tupolov? Seriously? He's on crack. He really is.

I was wondering the same thing. Probably just jealous of the attention.

Based on what he said about speed and the A-320 he doesn't know Jack Schitz about how an Airbus works. What a tool!!

He probably thinks it was easier to fly the SP since it was shorter .

He doesn't show up on the seniority list.

Retired maybe? Possibly a nom de plume'?

Now he is giving his expert opinion about Captain Al Haynes, who got the crippled DC-10 to SUX, saving a bunch of lives and becoming a CRM hero along the way. Most folks who tried it in the sim crashed.

But "Capt. Tom" tells his fearfull flyers:
But why couldn't Haynes use the differential thrust himself? I'm shocked that he was so inept that he had to have another pilot do it for him, in order to steer the plane.

If Haynes had been more adaptive, and caught on to this way off using the throttles himself, it might have been possible to get the plane on the runway
