Confederate Air Force?
Yeah, yeah, commemorative, blah blah. It'll always be the Confederate AF.
I commuted up last week next to a guy who was in the CAF and seemed to really enjoy it. Other than seeing some of their equipment at airshows and poking around their website I don't know much about them really.
If anyone on here is a member and wouldn't mind answering some questions, I'm just curious what exactly being a 'Colonel' entails. Around aircraft much? Doable with a 12-13 day off schedule?
What about sponsoring an aircraft? It seems like the investment is bigger but you're much more involved in the day to day of it. As a current aircraft owner I'm not sure I want to get involved in another ownership/sponsorship, especially of a warbird where the expenses could get ridiculous quick.
Thanks guys.

I was a member and was with a "squadron" and it's pretty neat (depends upon who you ask). I'll send you a like to a warbird forum where a bunch of CAF guys are on the prowl and you can ask there. I'm also a big PBY Cat fan. I'd like to end up flying one of the heavies for them (B-24, -17, -29) since I had relatives that were on all 3 during the war. From what I understand there are lots of airline pilots involved with them, including the guy who had to put Liberty Belle into a field after a fire had started.
