I'm a fan. Strange twists there at the end with so many main line characters getting the bump. I mainly watch it for the special effects. Same old drama filled story line otherwise. This person gets into a tiff with that person while the group dynamics start to breakdown and the cliques start to form. Throw some budding love relationships in there and you can predict a few shows down the line.
Personally I'm looking forward to the HBO Series 'Game of Thrones' coming to my mailbox today from NetFlix! I've been reading the books and am wondering how they will change it for 'made-for-TV'. It to should have some great special effects and action involved.

Love the show. My friends and I don't call it a zombie show, but a drama that happens to have zombies as a subplot. It's actually the only series that I follow. (And now have to wait until October until season 3... ugh!)
I was worried this seasons, as midway through it, AMC fired the show's creator/ep/showrunner Frank Darabont, but I thought it was a strong season. I really look forward to season 3.
One thing of interest, at least for me, a lot of season 1 was shot just down the road from where I live.

I know you have to pay attention to detail in this series and the one thing that sticks out in the first season and in the season finale this year is the chopper shot .
Interesting that nothing was said about that when they were at the CDC .

The Mrs. became hooked on it from the start and the shocker that was let known in the finale is that everyone is infected and I wonder how they are going to explain that as the series progresses?

*SPOILERS FOR THOSE HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST 2 EPISODES*
I was sad about Dale's passing, I really liked him. But, I want them to kill off Carl... can't stand that brat. Listen to your mother for Christ sake!
Now, about the killing off of Shane... the actor, Jon Bernthal, will be staring in Frank Darabont's (creator of TWD) new show that will be airing on TNT. So that would of created a contract/schedule conflict. Shane was p!ssing me off anyways.
Now, with the Prison scenes coming up in Season 3, I believe we are going to see the return of Daryl's brother, Merle.

Big question still remains, is how did everyone get infected. I hope they do tell us, but only during the series finale. I really didn't like them spilling the secret about the infection in the last episode, but it keeps the plot interesting, so I can let it pass.

Season 3 seemed short and like you said - I can't believe that we have to wait until Fall.
