I always love it when a Southwest pilot asks for a shortcut on a frequency that is busy with ATC at an obviously high work load and they just ignore them.

Yep. 90% of pilots are indeed tools. ATC asks a question. Don't respond with another question. Don't say "checking in" or "with you" and don't hover your hand on the flap lever. If you disagree, you are probably the guy people don't like flying with.

I don’t care about the flap lever part but I agree 100% with the RT stuff. It’s a uniquely american problem. The rest of the world knows how to talk on the radios. For some reason we don’t teach it here in the states and captains don’t do a good job mentoring new FOs. Fly across Europe or Asia and you never hear any of the extraneous calls, ‘meows’ on guard, or any of the other crap we get routinely in FAA airspace.

You don’t notice it, because they meow in a foreign language. :D

That must be why I can't get the cat to do anything. He speaks Farsi.

I bet it annoys you even more when they give it to us.

I bet you’re a blast on a 4 day.

The other 10% get dinner and drinks paid for. You probably don’t fall in that group though.

I found a good one on the Frontier board -

With the talk of Moxy getting a lot of there pilots from Silver I’m wondering whether I should stay put or now go to Frontier now that they’ve got a great contract. Lot of people think Frontier could be great now that your not working for dear pellets lol

Pros for Moxy - Great seniority early, fun culture
Cons - Don’t know where bases are yet

Pros for Frontier - Denver and Orlando bases
Cons for Frontier - Airbus

It actually doesn't.

Congratulations on arriving 6 minutes early.

Congratulations on arriving 6 minutes early.

I would be lucky to get 6 minutes on a transcon, with getting direct to the airport.
