I once worked as a contract Captain for a European airline where the FOs wore 2 stripes, the Captains wore 3 and the Captains with over 1500 hours in type wore 4. At the time, only the chief pilot and I had 4 stripes. Chick magnet. Still married to one of them.

Had a Captain on the 3-holer many years ago begin his brief like this: I was the youngest test pilot Boeing ever hired and there is nothing you can tell me about this airplane that I don't already know.
Was eventually banned from the left seat. Also was involved in landing at the wrong airport as a permanent F/O on the DC-10. Was shown the door after that. TOOL!

That must have been quite a blow to his ego.

Haha I'm loving this thread.
Now I know I can be a tool on the PA. Its normally on day 3 leg 4, and my mind starts drifting off somehwere else. Then I forget what I was saying so I usually wrap it up with a " once again welcome aboard ."
But the best I ever saw was the captain who for an entire month would do a very professional sounding PA, just to follow it up by repeating the WHOLE thing in Italian!!!! TOOL!!!
