If you begin to see that more and more of the people you fly with are tools, you should probably re-evaluate the guy in the mirror.

That explains why F-16's dont have mirrors in them....:D

Is it "quote for quote" or "quote - unquote" ? The use of a laser pointer during a briefing is poor form.

I nominate a collective set of tools.

I don't want your leftover food or water bottles. I'm not some guy under a bridge grubbing for handouts. Take it with you or throw it out.

Leave the Telexs in the North birds. They DON'T belong in the lost and found.

On that same note, the Telexs DON'T GO IN THE BAIT WELL on the DC-9.

That is all.

How about the guy who kicks off his shoes and cleans the CRT's in the A320 with his feet? Yep....all 6 of them....

This man is a hero. I would love to see a video of that. All from his seat? The contortion must be impressive. Is anyone in the other seat?

In my mind I see spider-captain sprawling around cleaning screens with his feet, hilarious!

Well, I guess I'm a tool as I've used the term.

It's part of the "Brevity code". It essentially means flying in reduced visibility or in and out of clouds.

Thus suppose ATC calls out traffic and you have the aircraft in sight but you know you'll lose the aircraft momentarily when you re enter the clouds.

I would guess you didn't fly in the military...

Yes, I DID fly in the military and have never ever used the term "Popeye" or the term "angels" or the term "Tally" or the term "Bingo fuel" or "parrot" during a full airline career. Speaking of tools on the radio, had a copilot respond to to a freq. change of 130.230 as 130.Michael Jordan. I kid you not.

Radio chatter can expose a "tool" about as quick as anything in a cockpit, except for the following.

And there is one captain who flies at my current airline who, I have been told, not only takes his shoes off, takes his socks off, but..........clips his toenails.

Avgwhitemale 04-27-2012 10:23 AM

He does it all from his seat! He is at least 6'3" tall. I will video tape this amazing act. He actually asks me to slide my seat back so he can clean up. I wouldn't believe it if I had not have seen it personally. He is famous around the base...

Or respond to 30.07 as "James Bond Altimeter"
