I just bought a Dodge Ram 1500 and it was 6 or 7 thousand less then a Ford. Seems to be a great pickup and rides like a car. But I guess I am a socialist for not buying a Ford, give it a rest Glenn Becks of this country.

Mid sized trucks are Tacomas, Frontiers and the like. They used to be smaller than they are now. I have a Frontier, it is has a perfect balance between roominess and park-ability. Some people do not want battle carriers for personal vehicles, it pays off in the parking lot. The Ranger may be cancelled, but it was a badly outdated design and Ford can't see renewing a vehicle that is long in the tooth and only gets a few more mpg than a F150 with a V6.

Good choice V-B. Try parallel parking your full sized Ford before you buy it, though.

Actually Ford is still making and selling a redesigned Ranger, but not in the US. The reason Ford does not sell it here is because the new ranger is larger than the old ranger and they fear it would cost them F150 sales.

2012 Ford Ranger First Look - Motor Trend

Personally, I would probably buy the crew cab 3.2 diesel.

Time will tell if I got what I paid for. At least it was built by American labor.

If it is a Regular Cab or HD it was probably built in Mexico, Crew and Quad cabs are built in Michigan.

Yep, it was built in Michigan. Kinda surprised me that the HDs were made in Mexico. That's the kinda stuff that should have been part of the bailout, you want taxpayers dollars. Bring all the jobs back.

As has been covered, the model you purchased was. Assembled by American labor, like Chevy/GM trucks, Ford trucks, Toyota trucks, Nissan trucks, etc etc etc.

Also, take a look at who holds the majority of Chrysler corp.

Why? PLENTY of GM trucks are assembled in Mexico.

I'm not flaming you nor picking on you dude, so keep the weapons on safe.

But many that talk about buying an "American made vehicle" often don't know EXACTLY what that entails, nor where the corporate profit goes sometimes.

Nice strawman attempt, but I would be remiss in saying such a thing as I own a 79 F150 that I wouldn't trade for a brand new Ford, Chevy, Dodge or Toyota.

No cats our of any bags. But again, nice try, strawman.

...

Apparently their piousity or their faith in leftwing science only lasts until the 1st battery change.

Again, manufacture what you want if it helps you sleep at night. Science is science. There is no left or right wing science.......but you and Jungle seem to want to think that. Cart before the horse anyone?
