I must say, the international impact of the badminton scandal no doubt kept the world in tight suspense.
My question is this, how can badminton be an olympic sport and not bullfighting?
Real sport involves something that may seperate your head from your torso, everything else is just a silly little trifle.

Badmiton, trampoline, that dancing thing with a ribbon on a stick, solo syncronized swimming? What a joke. I'm trying out for the next olympics in checkers and twister.

I am sure our readers can imagine many more examples. But badminton? Please.

Girls on a trampoline may prove to be an exception.

I might have missed it somewhere but I have always been curious about how these people go about getting trained and what kind of investment they are looking at .
Do they get any money from the sponsors that advertise ?

According to my cousin the family pays all initial training fees. These kids usually start at a very early age and their training continues in college. My little cousin got a scholarship to Stanford. Sponsors come out of the woodwork when you show signs of potential and money starts when you win. I went to her wedding - very expensive affair which her father said was mostly paid for herself with plenty leftovers to spare.

Because anything can happen to shut off the sponsorship flow of money they better have a backup plan. Hers was a masters degree also from Stanford. Not unlike being a pilot in more ways than one. Our family has always believed in education.

Thanks ! The Olympics have been interesting so far and we're thinking of going to the winter games .
Always wanted to go to the games and might as well do it while we can.

Default Alternative Olympics

Urban sportsmen relax during a lull in the revolution in Syria, taking time to chug a two liter Pepsi and have a few smokes while checking their computer for APC posts and getting the latest intel sent from CENTCOM. Sponsored by FN, makers of the FAL-still the right arm of the Free World.

Jungle,

Are you sure that's not Chicago? The picture in that bottle looks like someones Campaign Logo.

Maybe it's Rahm's Response Team.
