"In the end more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

The Boston Marathon bombing and the subsequent search for the perpetrators also was touched by John Galt. Technology has existed for nearly 20 years that can make individual production lots of explosives traceable...
John Galt is a very busy guy, sowing death and destruction from one side of the country to the other. But since he continues to make good money, we have to give him his freedom and keep those markets wide open. Praise the lord of the free market and pass the untagged ammunition.

The root cause was muslim extremists, but I can well understand why free markets must be blamed for everything in your thinking.

In addition to all the other facts that have surfaced, apparently on CNN last night, their mother said the following:
“If they are going to kill him. I don’t care. My oldest son is killed, so I don’t care. I don’t care if my youngest son is going to be killed today. I want the world to hear this. And, I don’t care if I am going to get killed too. And I will say Allahu Akbar!“
May we be granted the wisdom to make their wish come true.

I wonder if she'll come here to visit her precious son in the hospital as there is an outstanding warrant out for her arrest for a shoplifting charge to the tune of $1,600 from Lord & Taylor.

Word for the day: Deodand-in primitive thinking objects were often seen as evil, most of us find this concept amusing today.

"In this [statist] worldview, people’s weak wills and eccentricities make them prey both to shameless hucksters and to their own strange psychological traits. Ironically, however, [this viewpoint] fails to explain why the irrational and impulsively childlike people who are apparently the nation’s citizens will elect a government that is itself not irrational and impulsive—or why government officials won’t exploit, for their own corrupt ends, the people’s cognitive weaknesses."
