Joined the forum to get info about the aviation field in order to help my son get into it. He started flying gliders at 14 and got his private powered last summer. He has a lot of good people in aviation guiding him but I am not in the field and don't know much about it.

I'm an old, fat, broke, 400hr tailwheel pilot with a lapsed medical. I joined because a valued friend of mine was killed November 6, and I found the thread where his accident/death is being discussed. I have questions.

I'm a military fixed and rotary wing instructor with 2300+ hours looking to retire and get into the airlines. I have an ATP Multi Engine, CFI/II, Rotary and Fixed. The issue is currency, I haven't flown since 2008 and need to figure out what type of hours I should spend my money on?
