I'm going through UPT for the Air Force - I am a prior enlisted maintenance guy, and hoping to fly something big and heavy. I love the military adventure and the great people I get to work with every day. Long term goal is lifer with the Air Force and after they kick me out for age, maybe try to squeeze in a few more years flying corporate before 65 - then recreational flying 'till I kick the bucket.

Hi. You mentioned that you will be attending pilot school in Sweden? Is the training cost high in Europe? Im just saying because some European pilot cadets come over to the USA to learn in more favorable wether conditions and at a reduced cost. Is this an airline sponsored program you will be attending?
I know that many who complete their CPL go to the US for time building as the rates for rental, insurance and fuel are lower.
The school is not sponsored but it operates at a Ryan Air and Wizz Air hub and many of the cadets get rated for B737 and land first officer positions at these airline as their first real gig before progressing to SAS, Luftansa, KLM, British Airways, etc.
I am considering flight school in the US as I have a US green card but health insurance is covered for me in Sweden and the cost of acquiring private health insurance in the US seems daunting. Any insights on this matter? How do cadets manage their health insurance especially with coverage on accidents?
