I'm sure someone has a story about each one of these airports. I myself worked at GKY, Arlington, Tx for a few years. I can't even imagine the headache closing the tower will cause due to the plethora of transient traffic during the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys games. Times that headache by 10 during the playoffs or Super Bowl.
I remember flying into many of the airports on that list; AHN, MCN, MKL, OWB, PWA, and SWO. Hate to see any of them close. Well maybe MCN, they were never too friendly.

White House Admits (Third Time) President Obama Fibbed On Sequester
None other than NBC’s David Gregory today pressed Obama’s chief economic advisor, Gene Sperling, whether his boss told the truth that “the sequester is not something that I’ve proposed. It is something that Congress has proposed.” Sperling finally wilted under the pressure of tough questioning to admit that “yes, in fact, the sequestration was President Obama’s plan.”

I think that saying the airports will close is a little bit of a stretch. Where I live the "downtown" airport may lose their tower but the airport will be just fine. The commercial field 12 miles away, no changes. Don't fall for the hype, if the FAA cant make do with more then they had last year, good riddance. Again 20 months to come up with a plan and this is the best they got.

Does not surprise me that POU made the list. With IBM and now Richmor out of there, there is no incentive to keep the tower. AAG has some operations and there is one flight school with a fleet of a whopping 3 aircraft..
