Lack of a TFR or lack of a R/P airspace over a power plant or similar critically important structure does not preclude using good judgement or common sense.

Not banned, does not then equal "should." Petting stray pit bulls is not illegal, but should you ?

Oh, and a Texas police officer yes, can ask to see your pilots license.
Yes! Lay back and let "THEM" take a little more....just a bit more....it's for our own good.... You don't need those rights!!!!
People like you are the reason we are in this mess!!!
Why don't you move ? You don't need to live in a FREE Country!!!

It always amazes me how quickly the majority of the American population is willing to give up their rights and liberties in the name of "security".

It cheapens the sacrifice of all those Americans who fought and died protecting those rights and liberties. It's sickening.

Furthermore, it's concerning to me how the DHS is getting MRAPs and buying tons of bullets etc... Why on earth does a domestic police force need mine resistant vehicles?

As far as the article goes it is alarming but doesn't really surprise me.

The various agreeing and dissenting opinions are within that document.
On limited bandwidth, but have seen the video. The video pertains to Border Patrol, not DHS. The actions of the folks in the videos is how many interact with LE all the time. I know how I interact is based solely on the cop and my suspicion for why he's stopped me and what he's after. How the guys in this video interacted is not 'out of the ordinary' for those in the know.

And your case law is from 1973, so I quit reading after that. Not because it's from 1973, but because that means the current law has not been challenged in court yet (to my knowledge - I'm happy to be proven wrong). This happens all the time - some act/law/etc is deemed illegal/unconstitutional by courts, legislators write new similar laws with different language and go about the same tactics in new ways until challenged in court again.

Sorry - fuzzy memory:

Border search exception - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

100 miles and the big thing that has everyone up in arms is the seizure of electronics w/o suspicion or warrant.

Here's an article:

"It is what it is"........

Any wonder why things are heading the way they are in this country with sentiments like that?

No, it's not.

You do, however, have to present your pilot certificate upon request. I can't present that which does not exist, nor will I correct their mistake for them.

UNBELIEVABLE.

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
