Anybody who thinks they know (and are certain) on how to predict the future is a bull****ter to me, BUT, If the pilot shortage is a myth, then wait 10 years and compare how many people are still getting their ATP's in 2023 compared to today. If the past 10 years is an indicator of the next 10 years, you'll most likely have a pilot shortage. At some point, more people will look elsewhere for jobs and stop getting new licenses and applying for jobs simply because they can't live on less than McDonalds wages as inflation increases also (F/O salaries haven't changed in half a decade). There's your simple pilot shortage come true right there.

I know im posting against my own thread. Besides regional whipsawing and economic downturns, i do believe numbers dont lie. There will be alot of mainline hiring in the coming decade. Regionals will see a shortage.

Regionals are already seeing a shortage. They are having trouble filling classes.

This is where the "shortage" will be. The majors will NEVER see a shortage. How does mainline remedy such a problem to ensure a full stock of cheap labor willing to work for peanuts? They're going to have to create more attractive flow programs than those currently offered at the likes of Pinnacle, Compass, or Eagle, et al.

Dang! The title of this thread had me all ramped up about being a strip club manager.

What are the odds of there being a shortage of strip club managers in the coming years?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I don't think there will be a shortage but there's going to be a steady hiring indefinitely when age 65 is up. I don't know how accurate those retirement numbers are but they are massive compared to what we've seen in the past. I'm just wondering what's going to happen when regional management tell the mainline partners, we can't find anymore pilots! The 1500 hour mins have been unofficially in effect for regional applicants and people have shown up but that won't last much longer unless there's an incentive.
