That takes the cake for KC-135 flybys -- gotta love the French!

Looks a lot like one of the videos by the B-52 pilot who bought the farm at the airshow at Fairchild. Guts, yes... brains...

It's part of the french's new strategy. They heard about getting shot at higher altitudes so they want to try refueling by the ground.

this is unquestionably a fake. a well done fake, but still a fake.

check out the shadow of the aircraft. it fits perfectly until the aircraft passes the camera. the shadow now falls too far behind the aircraft for the actual sun position.

also note that there is no dust or bushes moving from the large downwash.

the French are liars!

I watched it many times. The shadow appears to shift because the altitude of the aircraft changes. As it gets lower the shadow shifts closer to the aircraft which is reasonable.

The french also believe that painting a Big stripe over your car from front to back makes it a sportscar....

Tech, I don't know if it's fake or real, but look at the shadows of the people and the bushes, they seem to match the shadow of the airplane. I don't think the shadows are showing any signs of it being fake.

(the moan in the beginning is very annoying lol)

puppyz:

i agree with your first sentence. the oddity is when the plane passes to the right, and the shadow drops behind the aircraft. the sun stays put, so the shadow should always be to the right from our viewing perspective. notice how it is distinctly closer to us, the viewer, as the aircraft passes to the right. no matter what the aircraft's altitude, the shadow should always be in the same position relative to the plane. by this measure, the video is bogus in my opinion.
