What if the controller then said... check your transponder is on, not receiving your mode C.

Wrong.
They're not flying with you, they're worshiping you. I mean you're not a Captain, you're an Admiral. AND a hat, which, when worn backwards, makes me look like a U Boat Commander, so there's that! :D |

27:40 is when they checked in. 28:25 they get their delay and to go M /D.
You can compare voices. It doesn't sound the same. |

Delta pilot ATC Rant
Totally fake and dubbed over ... How ever when I was based there for a short time period I did here one or two things identical to this. Controller got a little fresh with the FO on the radios and captain took over and said we don't need this ****!, controller responds with Delta 123 say ready to write down a phone number . captain responds with nope, don't have time to write down a number too busy operating a airplane . Controller didn't event know how to respond ... Then someone gets on and says , "like a bawwssss". Pretty funny ,
Unprofessional on both sides, however I think the controller was just trying to change his everyday life and have a touch of fun and the Delta boys couldn't hand with a sense of humor which then turned ugly. Overall the tower people in ATL are on point . Hats off to them 99 percent of the time . |

Overall the tower people in ATL are on point . Hats off to them 99 percent of the time . I promise you it's a 100% real. I was taxing when it happened. Hence why I went on liveatc.net and found it. Anybody can find it there and I'm pretty sure that website doesn't make fake recordings. July 25, 1100z, 121.75 for ground |

You are missing what I was trying to clarify. That some may think this is fake I simply was making a point that regardless of who was on the raidio. This event DID happen. |

Was this 2422 yesterday, the 25th? If so, I don't recognize either name.

Does sound like a change of voice to me.

Most of those who have posted on this thread are DL pilots (including who you quoted) and were trying to figure out if it was the fo or ca whose names we have access to (the offender will be appropriately excoriated)...no DL guys have intimated that it is fake. Liveatc is a direct recording of ATC freqs.

http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps9e1106a2.png The red circles and arrow point to where either pilot can key a microphone and talk to an air traffic controller, who in this case was is in the tall tower. The controller is working what we call "Ground", and in Atlanta they clear you to taxi on the taxiways and then tell you to monitor tower, one of the few airports in the western hemisphere (outside of Canada) that seems to think they need to tell you that. Should I continue? :D |

What a complete and unprofessional jerk. Of course I'd expect nothing less from the Delta "professionals". Hopefully he was in his CP's office doing a carpet dance at the end of the flight. Absolutely no excuse to talk that way to a controller.
Actually, listen to the tape. There are a lot of Delta professionals on the frequency sounding like we do, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, everywhere around the world. Then there is that hothead acting hot and bothered and unable to control his anger which kind of reminds me of... ... you. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qG6v_huvXk...utler2_500.gif |

We all make mistakes, do stupid things, say stupid things. And most people act/speak completely different when they know a camera or microphone is on. That's what makes this transmission all the more bizarre, because he KNEW the transmission was being recorded. That makes me think there has to be something going on in his personal life that has him on edge. That being said, your comment about you'd "expect nothing less from Delta 'professionals' says a lot more about you than about those you're obviously trying to slam. No DAL is defending this guy's actions. Why the angst? |
There's a song for that!
Daniel Powter - Bad Day (Official Music Video) - YouTube He was probably on his way to Boston to score some smack when ATC threw that delay at him...oh wait, wrong air line...but there's a song for that too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7Ch4...7Ch4O7wmuY#t=0 |

I've been waiting for them to change the universal Delta Ramp freq to 121.5
And yes, it should be called "Delta Ramp" even in places like Charlotte, Dallas, Chicago and Philadelphia. Doesn't everyone know Philly only exists as PIT stop for Kennedy arrivals when it is raining? |
Yikes Capt is a 91 hire and FO is a 98. Talk about super stagnation. I flew with many 91 hires as an FO on the 88 on reserve. No one else wanted to fly with them. Stagnation plus MD-88 makes for really angry pilots.

Delta pilot ATC Rant
If it's not fake, then this Delta cat needs to seriously find a new life / career .... Who gets that worked up over something so small.... And that controller is actually a great and nice guy . Talk to him a few times ....
Go find a woman / boy ( your pref ) or yoga or tinder and chill out .... |

I would think they should get a call from that.

Maybe for the same reason you guys have to hijack every thread on this forum and turn it into something about how great delta is. Delta is number one Fortune Magazine best places to work. Put in an open white slip, find out for yourself.* (that works even if you don't fly for Delta because we own a percentage of, or outsource to, every other airline on the planet except for Norwegian and I'm sure we will work that out before too long ... yeah, enjoy the ride in "our" crew van) |

Noooope. No desire to work with such a company. Just listen to these "professionals" bloviate about what a great company they work for. Yep, the same company that fleeced the American taxpayers, as well as their retired employes, after filing for bankruptcy protection. No thanks. That's not a place where I want to work.
|
Finally got the audio to work on the file ... yowza ... Pro Stans blanket party ... or maybe he was trying to get his Captain violated.
Appropriate response was "thank you." Atlanta is great about NOT violating flight crews for inconsequential failures at playing "simon says." Pilots like (for any airline) that have the potential to reduce the efficiency and friendliness at the World's Busiest Airport. |
There is a huge difference between righteous indignation and stupidity. Radio boy crossed the line into major stupidity with that one.
