It is on the web page for abc news. Now, not only will the pilot probably get in trouble but I am sure Delta does not like the bad publicity. I hope the original poster is proud of himself. Nice first post and good luck on your app with Delta. P.S. Please stop clogging up the frequency asking for wind checks. Thank you. |

Again, do you really think I'm that stupid? C'mon Buddy unless you can figure out every Expressjet(both United and delta), Air Shuttle, Skywest aircraft that could be on freq. Or who knows...Maybe I'm Spirit or Silver or Airtran.... and then some how figure who was flying the plane...and then exactly which seat I am (capt or fo)....and then can provide 100% fact that I'm linked to this username.. I'm not too worried.

It only takes five minutes to hear everyone who was active on 121.75 between calling in their spot to their hand off to tower or crossing the runway and proceeding to the ramp during the time of the rant. And it's not that many, much less non Delta. I should know, I listened and wrote them down. Wasn't many at all. Go listen.
Good luck at the other airlines you apply with. From reading your posts, you're going to need it. Carl |

Forgot to bid is exactly right here Pilot30324. I can promise you that your name and the names of those other crew members are already known. A number of folks here that fly for Delta have probably already got the IP address you used on all of your posts and that geographical data will have narrowed the list of possible folks down to a few. You'll never get interviewed here. Sadly, the others won't either. You simply couldn't risk hiring someone like you who has such disdain for the company.

Guaranteed it won't get the traction that the stuck-mic diatribe about old FA's at SWA did a few years ago.

Robin Meade is talking about "Settle down Captain Happy" on CNN after the next commercial break. Set your DVRs or check it out on airport TVs everywhere.
|
Guys and girls just keep in mind that EVERYTHING you say on the radio is now publicly available. We pilots make good copy for the press ESPECIALLY if we have a less than stellar moment. Apparently being a pilot now days is on par with being a kiddie pop star in the eyes of what we call the "press". They love to catch us in a screw up.

Thanks, in part, to a douche who also wants to be a Delta pilot. Without his post, this goes unnoticed. Guys in aircraft and working for ATC snap at each other all the time. The Delta guy was unhinged, no doubt. The guy that started this thread has issues as well.
I hope the Delta guy gets help and the moron that called him out realizes what a ass hat he is. |
His rant is weak compared to the SWA rant. That was classic!!!!
|
Do you guys really think that had it not been for the OP of this thread, that it would have never been started by someone else?

This will only be complete when set to one of those Hitler videos. I know someone has to be working on this. ;-)

But wait, there's more. I bet you didn't know the pilot landed on the wrong runway!

I can picture it now, it's like the end of a Scooby Doo episode and Captain Happy is getting cuffed/taken away and grumbling "and I would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for you meddling APC posters!!!!!"

I promise you it's a 100% real. I was taxing when it happened. Hence why I went on liveatc.net and found it. Anybody can find it there and I'm pretty sure that website doesn't make fake recordings.

Ok, based on the date and flight number, one of you Delta bubbas knows who this guy is. Come on, give it to us: Is he an a-hole or was this just a cranky exchange?
Someone get a hold of this guy and give us the scoop! (and don't respond with any bad attitude! LOL) |

Someone get a hold of this guy and give us the scoop! (and don't respond with any bad attitude! LOL) Which is why I lean towards this being more of him having an issue with a specific controller. I have no idea his previous schedule but there was IROPS the night before and maybe there was a run in. I don't know. To me we all make mistakes. Controllers make mistakes, pilots make one every 2-3 minutes, normal guys don't get bent out of shape... unless... there is a reason. That rant was directed as a specific person not ATL ATC. Just my two cents. |

I received a phone call from CNN the morning of the Colgan crash... because the jumpseater was a friend on my facebook page. |

Notice, also, how quiet he's become since other guys shot him down. He only dug his hole deeper calling Delta pilots "idiots" and revealing that he has his app in at Delta. Talk about an "idiot." At a minimum, his judgement should come up at an interview, if he's fortunate enough to get one. |

I don't know. Then said to yourself "man, next time I have to deal with this controller, I'm gonna totally unload on them"? Even though it was a DIFFERENT day, and the controller didn't do anything in that exchange to incite the behavior? Who knows? Based on what you could be suggesting, maybe pilots the the night before got snippy with the controller and the controller simply responded in kind? Hmmmmmmm, maybe the internetz detectives can get to the bottom of this whole mess and pull the tapes from the IROP period the night before......... Good grief, if any LGA based pilots did that circa 2000-2001 with a SPECIFIC controller that was notorious for having a serious attitude, it would have made that place even more fun. |

not true, look at all the non-pilot comments about the pilot's behavior (not just this story but others like it). It doesn't take a pilot to know when one is being a douche. I'm not a doctor or a cop, but I can tell when their exchanges are out of the ordinary/douchey.
One would have to be a moron NOT to recognize the rude, condescending, unprofessional tone by Captain Happy. Kudos to the controller for keeping his cool and not firing back. |

The DAL guy was way out of line. So was the guy who highlighted it (while having his app in for a job at the same company). The former has issues, so does the latter. When was the last time you posted an exchange from a doctor or cop that was douchey? |

missed my point totally. Whether you agree with it being posted or not wasn't the issue. I've heard much worse on the radio. But it wouldn't take a pilot to realize that a pilot (or controller) was being out of line, as you said in your post. That's the only item I was debating. Now let me go listen to ATC tapes for a few minutes, I'll try to dig up some dirt on American to cut Delta a break ;)
And, you're right, I missed your point. ;) |

There HAS to be a tape out there somewhere of an AS pilot losing it while flying an RNP into Juno. |

I typically just block a guy on the radio when he's acting like an idiot. It's best for those transmissions to be unreadable/unheard IMO, and that's for everyone's benefit. |
