Yeah, that got my attention too. I'm retired Zoom Zoom as well. Yikes!

This guy wouldn't know what to do with a snapper if it was right in front of him. What a shame.

Exactly. I don't see where this crew did anything wrong.

Once they accepted the visual to 27R, maintaining traffic separation is on the pilots.

I think it was uncalled for but my bet is this guy has had a run in with that controller which is not uncommon.

I bet he feels bad about it right now, it's making its viral rounds.

I bet this is a one time occurrence for this pilot because nobody would want to be seen day after day on the Internets as having uncontrollable anger issues.

The red circles and arrow point to where either pilot can key a microphone and talk to an air traffic controller, who in this case was is in the tall tower.

The controller is working what we call "Ground", and in Atlanta they clear you to taxi on the taxiways and then tell you to monitor tower, one of the few airports in the western hemisphere (outside of Canada) that seems to think they need to tell you that.

Should I continue? :D

Its a handful. Busiest seat at DAL is an 88 FO. Maybe FTB or some other genius can post the flows. Un-frikkin-believable.

Anything Boeing builds or Airbus is infinitely easier. Puts hair on your chest though!:D

It has been too long without a "GoJets Suck." I just knew there was a way to turn this thread into an RJ bash fest. Good work man!

If Timmay was in that DAL plane that morning, the controller would asked how he'd like to get to the runway.

I hope he feels bad about it, that's an attitude that doesn't belong in any crewed cockpit with passengers on board.

For your listening pleasure. (30:20)

That double breasted jacket must be on a little too tight. Or maybe they were busy monitoring delta ops radio 121.5, either way I hope I can attain that level of professionalism someday.

Yikes that's pretty bad!

I do! I do! The dude on the radio sucks. More importantly, who are the trolls monitoring ATL ground freqs at 7:00 AM? That's downright creepy.

And to make that link your FIRST post?

There's more to the story.

he said he was out there in line behind them talking to ground, so it seems feasible that he would have heard the exchange then looked it up online. seems legit.

Good point. Because it would have been 100% acceptable on an empty repo, OR on a FedEx/UPS/Kalitta/Atlas (cargo) plane, etc.

I'm sure he MMPI will be revised to contain 2 new questions;

1) I sometimes like to make mistakes every 2-3 minutes but never have an attitude about it.

2) I like to get argumentative/confrontational and make up my own rules at times.

n7715x 07-26-2014 11:15 PM

What a pathetic embarrassment to our profession.

orvil 07-27-2014 04:15 AM

So, I'm passing through ATL ops yesterday. There were five guys all clustered around a cell phone listening to the exchange. I assumed they were talking about underboob.

We need some underboob for this thread. Where's Jessie?

Haha you guys or gals really arent the sharpest are you? Do you think someone is just sitting around monitoring the 2 ground frequencies and 3 tower? Cmon buddy, use your head. And the reason it's a first post is because I'm not an idiot...I'm not going to have my app in at an airline and then bash them on the internet under a real name that could probably be traced back to who I am. It takes two seconds to make a yahoo email and boom I'm done.

I'm starting to wonder if the 88 is actually a hard plane to fly or if your pilots are just idiots ha.
