Default Sorry for such a random thread - Fighter Ride

Don't know why it has taken me so long to ask about this, but I was just curious as a few years ago I used to see now and again ads on websites for taking rides in retired fighter jets.

Has anyone here done this? Is it generally a traveling around the U.S. type of thing where you just have to catch it at the right time? It is on my bucket list/dream to take a ride in one, so if anyone has any info/experience with this I'd love to hear about it!

have a good one guys.

You typically need to go to Russia for that (supersonic) experience. It's also a little pricey... Or you could go to say Air Combat USA. They use prop planes and can provide a pretty realistic experience and dish out anything you can handle as well.

The Collings Foundation does "training" in an F4-D Phantom. I believe it is a week long class. More information here: McDonnell F-4D Phantom II - The Collings Foundation

It's only $12.5K for an F4 ride.

Read somewhere that an F-15 was around 10-20K/hr to operate, so makes sense.
