Default "The Pilot's Pilot"

There's a recently released documentary "Flying the Feathered Edge" - looks excellent.

Flying the Feathered Edge | The Bob Hoover Project DVD

Bob's life story is very inspiring. He has had an incredible military and civilian flying career and is a role model to pilots around the world. Besides experimental test flying he's most well known for his airshow routine in the Rockwell P-51 and Shrike Commander, especially his one wheel landings and stopped engine aerobatics.

He's flown over 300 types, and performed in more aircraft, in more countries and in front of more people than anyone in history. According to Jimmy Doolittle he's "the greatest stick-and-rudder-man who ever lived". I really admire him.

I highly recommend his autobiography "Forever Flying", he's had a wild ride!

There's some great videos on YouTube -really nice F-86 demo, the music fits perfectly

Great post. Hoover is definitely a role model for pilots of any experience level.
