Default I thought I'd heard it all...

Actual verbatim transcript of a conversation I had yesterday with one of our FAs as we checked into our hotel on the second day of a 3-day. I swear I am not making this up or embellishing it.

FA: "What time is the van tomorrow?"

Me: "6:00 a.m. Remember it's daylight savings time tonight so make sure you set your clock ahead."

FA: "It's what?"

Me: "Daylight savings time. You know, the clocks go forward one hour."

FA: "What is that?"

Me: "Um, you don't know what daylight savings time is?"

FA: "I live in Arizona, we don't have it."

Me: "Just set your clock forward one hour before you go to bed and you'll be fine."

FA: "How do I do that?"

Me: "You're not serious?"

FA: "No really, how do I do that?"

And they trust these people with directing emergency evacuations?

Don't you get it. He was asking you to come to his room to help set the "clock".

Um, it was a female FA.

Same FA, during today's flight, hits the emergency call button up to the front office. I'm flying, so CA takes the call. Turns out she accidentally hit the wrong button. Oh, and then the reason for the call? To complain about her schedule next month.

So, are you going to tell us?

How do you set the clock forward for this daylight savings time?

And if I set the clock ahead aren't I losing an hour? And if I'm losing an hour how is daylight sayings time saving me anything?

And if we do this every year won't I lose an entire day after 24 hours? And after 335 years won't I lose an entire year?

I'm so confused. I never should have left congress.

Daylight savings is stupid. One of the few decent things about Arizona.

You really need to calm down... If you're this bent out of shape only a couple months in you're going to stroke out soon.
