What would happen if the Shiek of Arabia was paired up with Maria of the pilots?

Why we really take selfies: the 'terrifying' reasons explained - Telegraph

Good article on the real reason why people are obsessed with selfies.

I recently saw a pilot in uniform in the men's restroom in PHX taking a selfie (multiple selfies) while at the sink. He would pose, take a selfie, then examine it for publishability.

The point is he was not capturing a moment in time, or an snapshot of his life at that moment. He was staging, editing, and creating a scene for others to view. Just like advertising.

I have sent images, when someone text me and asks what I'm doing. A pile of laundry, stack of paperwork, etc. Not the best off 8 carefully taken selfies of me next to a laundry basket.

Don't underestimate the low self worth people have of themselves and the dire need to be accepted by others. Even if that means "staging pictures" and over elaborating of events to present that to others.

He works for Qatar. I wonder how he gets permission to post these pictures from the company...

My deepest apologies. I should have known better. An esteemed high quality airline like Air Arabia would never allow beards. Since the autopilot was probably on from v1 until flare at least he had plenty of time to make sure his FO took great pictures of him for his dedicated followers. As for permission of said pictures.. it's probably encouraged! Gets more pax!

Look at my designer shades/watch/pen, etc. Throw in some inspirational quotes about never giving up since mom and dad paid my way.
What a bunch of twats.

It was uploaded on Feb 11th. As of now it's like 7 rows down. I used to follow him for pure entertainment, but now I just cant take it.

-put on skin tight shirt
-wear ridiculously oversized glasses
-take selfie
-violate sterile cockpit
-google motivational quote
-copy/paste
-repeat

This dude either violates sterile cockpit in every other picture, or uploads pictures of his seat empty at altitude and no mask on the FO. Is O2 above 250 an FAA-only thing?
