Exclamation Private message problem(admin)

Hey, HSLD or other admins

I got a message saying my PM box was 100% full yet I only had 32 msg's total. I deleted some and it still said 100% full. Thought I'd let you know. I couldn't PM you because it said I reached my quota. Thats why I am putting it out here.

It seems the admins have changed the rules with respect to mail boxes. I just deleted many PMs to make room. I guess they are running low on space. Is that about right, Admins?

That's right, we did reduce the PM quota from 100 down to 25. We were carrying almost a Gigabyte of private messages which can affect database performance.

While this change may seem restrictive, keep in mind that you can download ALL of your PMs to your local machine in CSV, Text, or XML format (download links are in the bottom right corner of PM user interface). As the forum grows, we'd like to ask users to store excess messages on their own machines instead of the forum database.

Ok, I dutifully downloaded my PMs. On my desktop, I chose "text" and sure enough, everything got saved. However, I am on my laptop now and chose "xml" just for fun and games and morbid curiosity. I keep getting a message that IE is blocking something about the active content. Hmmmm. Too deep for me. Tech Maven, where are you?

I have an idea. Is there a way that we could "donate" some money for the server and get an increase in messages? I use them quite often and am constantly having to delete and delete and delete. I don't mind paying for the use.
