OK, I'll bite.

A link to a National Geographic article that talks about the threat to the Gulf States dated Oct. 2004 is liberal drivel? The article, based partially on findings from an Army Corps study predicted the exact problems occurring this week. Please explain what FEMA's responsibility is again.

Name calling is easy, but Ninety Two, Set, I think there is more to you than that. How about engaging in an adult dialog using facts?

Cheers,

What was G W Supposed to do about a 300 year old city that was doomed from the start? Even the National Geographic article proclaims that. Seattle is at risk from Mt. Rainer, Los Angeles from the fault. What was G W Bush supposed to do about all these and many more risks to our cities? We can't protect from every possible event. If that were the case then he should have closed the city and dozed it into the sea years ago. Anyone who goes there can recognize the risks. Perhaps we should be angry at the people who chose to live in harms way. It makes just as much sence.

Well, it is not the president's responsibility to prepare cities for hurricanes. The president, IMHO, is correct with the levee. If people (companies) would learn how to properly tie up a barge, one levee would not have been breached. The water did not clear the top. It spilled in after a barge slammed through it.
I am just sad from all of the help the people are receiving. Where was all of the moviestars, concerts, etc. when Andrew obliterated south Florida? Those people were not put into hotels, given debit cards, etc. They lived in tent city for months on end.
I am just tired of the government violating the US Constitution by giving tax payers money away to fix "natural disasters". Sorry. This is just one more thing pi$$ing me off about this country right now.

Well he could start by properly funding FEMA and by appointing a chairman with some relevant background in disaster management. He could step up and accept responsibility instead of getting Carl Rove to start the "blame game" BS. He could not say stupid things like, "I don't think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees."

He could start leading.

That would be a GREAT start. Seems like it is just for the ride now since there is now reelection to worry about.
I can't help but think that Bin Laden is going to show up in US custody soon to take peoples minds' elsewhere.
