Look, I get it, there are broken souls camped out on every corner, surviving on scraps and whatever coins people flick into a filthy hat like it’s charity absolution.
But spare me the tonedeaf bull****, a guy with thousands of hours, ATP ticket, flying heavy metal for an outfit that brags it’s a “legacy,” shouldn’t be crashing on some mate’s couch or eating cold noodles out of a dorm fridge
That’s a ******* disgrace.
Used to be $36? Jesus.
That’s like a battered wife whispering, “Well, at least he never used a closed fist, and Tammy’s husband put her in the ICU that one time.”
The second you slap “legacy” on the letterhead, the word “sacrifice” gets torched. Full stop.
And comparing a pilot paycheck to a flight attendant’s? That’s not apples and oranges; that’s comparing a neurosurgeon to the guy who mops the OR floor. Different planet, different responsibilities, different everything. Laughable.

Doesn’t change ****, Hawaiian’s tossing out wages that wouldn’t buy a decent hangover in a third-world port, let alone match the skills they’re demanding or the ******* cost of living in paradise.

Well after all this back and forth, it appears that you may not know, Alaska is doing the hiring and if you were to apply and get hired you can select an Alaska class and their equipment and base and get the higher first year rate, which is much more than Hawaiian side. All the bickering and bashing won't be necessary then, also, we are in contract negotiations and the pay you are questioning will end with that JCBA.

If you’re single, take the first class available from either side..
if you have a wife and kids, factor in taxes, the cost of private school, price of gas, price of groceries. Also factor in highest housing costs in the Country. That wide body pay rate difference is easily overmatched by living outside a high tax State like HI.
